The Effect of Sliding Speed and Applied Pressure Values on the Wear Behaviour of Carbon Fiber Filled Polyamide 6 (Pa6) Polymers

Bu çalışmada, karbon elyaf (KE) dolgulu poliamit 6 (PA6) polimer kompozitlerinin sürtünme ve aşınma davranışları üzerine kayma hızı ve yükün etkileri incelenmiştir. PA6 polimeri ve PA6 kompozitlerinin sürtünme ve aşınma testleri 1040 çelik diske karşı kuru ortamda pim-disk sistemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tribolojik testler oda sıcaklığında, farklı yük (10-40N) ve kayma hızı (0.4-1.2m/s) şartlarında yapılmıştır. Deneysel çalışmalar sonucunda, tüm polimer numuneler için yükün ve kayma hızının artmasıyla sürtünme katsayısı artmıştır. PA6 kompozitleri için aşınma oranı 10-10 mm3/Nm civarında elde edilmiştir. PA6 polimer kompozitlerinin aşınma oranını etkileyen en önemli parametrenin uygulanan kayma hızı olduğu belirlenmiştir.

In this investigation, the influence of sliding speed and load values on the friction and wear behaviour of carbon fiber filled polyamide 6 (PA6) composites were studied. Friction and wear tests of PA 6 polymer and PA6 polymer composites versus 1040 steel were carried out at dry condition on a pin-on-disc arrangement. Tribological tests were performed at room temperature at different loads (10-40N) and sliding speeds (0.4–1.2 m/s). The results showed that, for all polymers used in this investigation, the coefficient of friction increases linearly with the increase in load and sliding speed. The specific wear rate for PA6 composites were in the order of 10−10 mm3/Nm. The most important parameter affecting the wear rate of PA6 polymer composites was determined to be the sliding speed.
